Former Eredivisie champions AZ Alkmaar have confirmed Birmingham City’s interest in their striker Moussa Dembele. The Belgian international is seriously interesting the Premier League club and AZ believe a deal may not be too far away.

Dembele has impressed in the Eredivisie with AZ and was one of the club’s most important players when they picked up the Dutch title in 2009.

Since then AZ were rocked by seeing their shirt and stadium sponsor go bankrupt and, although still competing at the top end of the Eredivisie, will not be able to hold onto Dembele in the face of a substantial bid.
