Barcelona midfielder Xavi Hernandez has told the Catalan faithful that the arrival of Jose Mourinho at Real Madrid will just make La Liga’s current champions work harder to retain their crown. The Spain World Cup star also welcomed the arrival of Mourinho in the Primera Division.

"The arrival of Mourinho is a source of more pride and prestige [for La Liga]", said Xavi, "but it will also be another reason for us Catalans [to try harder]".

Xavi no doubt also wants to gain revenge over Mourinho for the Portuguese boss leading Inter to knock out Barcelona in last season’s Champions League.
