The prospect of Mario Balotelli becoming a Manchester City player may move a little closer tomorrow as his agent flies into England to continue negotiations. According to SKY, Balotelli’s representative Mino Raiola is confident a deal can be done, and a fee of €35M will be paid to Inter for the striker’s services.

However, Raiola has not completely ruled out the possibility of Chelsea making a late bid for his client. And Stamford Bridge is a destination Balotelli would certainly have to consider.

Chelsea, who have their heart set on Fernando Torres, may have to scale back that ambition and should the Spaniard choose to stay at Anfield, Balotelli may soon be seen as the next best choice.
