Albert Riera is expected to officially end his spell with Liverpool today by signing for Greek side Olympiacos. The Spanish winger has agreed terms in Athens on a three-year deal and must now just complete his medical.
Riera was hoping to be part of new Liverpool manager Roy Hodgson’s plans for the new season after the former Fulham boss declared everyone at Anfield was starting with a clean slate, but when the bid from Olympiacos was accepted it became clear his future lay elsewhere.
Olympiacos believe Riera represents an important signing in their bid to wrestle the Super League title back from eternal rivals Panathinaikos.
