After their embarrassing performance and attempted strike against former France coach Raymond Domenech in South Africa last month, all 23 French World Cup players have now been suspended from playing in a friendly against Norway on 11th August.

In an attempt to punish the squad for what was deemed an embarrassment and unacceptable behaviour, newly appointed coach Laurent Blanc and the Federal Council confirmed their unusual decision yesterday.

The list of excluded players contains big names such as Nicolas Anelka (Chelsea), who was sent home early during the World Cup group phase after verbally abusing his coach, as well as Patrice Evra (Man Utd), Franck Ribery (Bayern Munich) and Thierry Henry (New York Red Bulls).
