Roy Hodgson has praised his young Liverpool side’s performance in beating Macedonian side FK Rabotnicki 2-0 in their Europa League qualifier last night, and also said he had not considered the prospect of David Ngog leaving Anfield.

Ngog, who scored both goals in the win, has been linked with a loan move away from the club, with West Brom particularly keen on the Frenchman. Hodgson though dismissed the rumours.

"I can’t stop players being linked with other clubs, but I certainly haven’t discussed him leaving the club." Hodgson told Liverpool’s official website.

Commenting on the victory Hodgson said he was "very satisfied" and then went on to reveal that he had identified the game as one that "could have been very difficult for us".

Liverpool will now be confident of completing the job at Anfield in the second leg.
