Scottish giants Celtic have confirmed that they have a big offer on the table for attacking star Aiden McGeady. The Ireland international was the subject of strong interest from Russian side Spartak Moscow, who have already tried and failed to buy the player once, bidding £8.3M for his services.

Celtic boss Neil Lennon confirmed that there was an offer on the table for the 24-year-old and said interest was plentiful.

"There is strong interest. Not just from Moscow, but we believe from other clubs as well." And while Lennon admitted that he is a big fan of McGeady he also conceded that every player has their price.

"He is a talented player, very talented. But every player has his price and sometimes you can’t stand in the way of that."

With Celtic currently 3-0 down in their Champions League qualification meeting with Portuguese side Braga after the first leg, there is every chance to Scottish side will not make this season’s group stages. Should they miss out on Europe’s showpiece competition, then the sale of McGeady would surely go some way towards balancing the books.
