Rennes are looking at Loic Remy as a possible replacement for Asamoah Gyan. Gyan, the Ghana World Cup star, is wanted by Turkish giants Fenerbahce, yet they have yet to meet Rennes’ asking price, having a €16.5M bid knocked back by the Ligue 1 side.

For Gyan it has emerged that Rennes are ready to sell, but only for €18M. The French club will then put a portion of that money to use in an attempt to buy Remy from Nice.

Rennes sporting director Pierre Dreossi told radio station RMC that the Turkish side have "until Friday" otherwise "it’s over".

The feeling within France is that now Fenerbahce have been eliminated from qualifying for the Champions League, the Turkish side will not be ready to pay such a high fee for Gyan and will instead concentrate on Mamadou Niang from Marseille.
