As expected Liverpool have announced the capture of Christian Poulsen on a three-year deal. The Danish midfielder arrives from Juventus and while no fee has yet been officially announced, the English side are believed to have paid £6M for his services.

Poulsen worked with current Liverpool boss Roy Hodgson for a short time at FC Copenhagen and was quickly linked with the Premier League side when the former Fulham manager took charge.

A tough combative midfielder, Poulsen struggled to convince the Juventus faithful of his qualities following a move from La Liga side Sevilla in 2008. Ironically, Juventus only turned to Poulsen when they failed to capture Xabi Alonso from Liverpool that same summer.
