Marseille are hopeful they can quickly tie up the signing of Luis Fabiano from Sevilla. The Brazil striker has a big fan in Marseille coach Didier Deschamps, who sees the hitman as the perfect summer signing to boost his Ligue 1 defence and add to a Champions League run.
French officials are due to travel to Seville today in order to continue discussions. Reports from France suggest that if all goes according to plan then Fabiano could well see the deal finalised tonight.
However, regardless of how swiftly Marseille persuade Fabiano to sign on the dotted line, he will not take part in the club’s next Ligue 1 match away to Valenciennes.
