Manchester United chief executive David Gill has appeared to rule out the prospect of new signing Bebe heading out on loan this season. The Premier League giants moved quickly to snap up the 20-year-old Portuguese striker for a fee of €8M after it emerged Real Madrid were also serious about grabbing his signature.

Bebe had only joined Vitoria Guimaraes this summer and the move represents a quick profit for the Portuguese side after the striker has seemingly exploded onto the scene.

Questioned over what the immediate future holds for Bebe, Gill told the club’s website that it was unlikely he will head out of the club on loan any time soon.

"He’ll join up and be part of the first team squad this season. I think he’ll probably stay this year. [He] has to learn English and integrate into Manchester United and he’s really come from nowhere in a lot of respects."
