Mario Balotelli is moving closer towards sealing his move from Inter to Manchester City. Reports from Italy late last night suggested a fee of €28M had been agreed between the two clubs and Balotelli would fly into Manchester this morning to undergo a medical.
City had been reluctant to go to €28M for the striker, but a deal seems finally to have been agreed. Balotelli is expected to, barring last minute hiccups, ink a deal worth €3.5M per season for five years.
For the English club this will mark the end of a long transfer chase. While Balotelli is popular with coach Roberto Mancini, the Eastlands side were keen to ensure they were not paying over the odds for the 20-year-old.
