Mesut Ozil has agreed to move to Real Madrid according to his father. Mustafa Ozil told Turkish newspaper Hurriyet that his son had agreed to head to the Spanish capital and it was only a question of time as to when the deal would take place. Should it be this season or next, Ozil senior is confident his son will play for Los Blancos.

Mustafa Ozil also revealed that there was a more lucrative offer on the table from Inter and it was one Werder Bremen were keen to accept as it meant a transfer fee of €30M would be paid to the Bundesliga club. Mesut Ozil however, wants to play for Real Madrid.

Ozil senior explained their meeting with Real president Florentino Perez: "Mesut and I stayed in the chalet of Florentino Perez in Madrid, he invited us and we [came to an agreement] really fast because everything was spoken. We liked his willingness to help my child [move to Real Madrid]."

The news will be a blow to a raft of other interested clubs like Barcelona, Inter and Manchester United. It now appears that Ozil has his heart set on a Madrid move.
