Young Chelsea star Gael Kakuta is on the shopping list of Bayern Munich according to reports from his native France. Kakuta, who saw his move to the Blues from Lens become the subject of much controversy and eventually result in a transfer ban for the Stamford Bridge club, is on the cusp of first team football at the Premier League side.

Bayern Munich were apparently very impressed with Kakuta’s display in the recent Under-19 European Championships, which he helped France to win. German scouts believe Kakuta may welcome the chance to further his development at the Allianz Arena and appreciate their reputation for bringing through young stars.

L’Equipe believe that the Germans will soon make a move, though they may not find Chelsea willing to play ball. Kakuta appears to be developing rapidly and any decision to sell him to the Bundesliga champions would come as a surprise.

However, Bayern are flush with cash following their run to the Champions League final and completion of a domestic double last season: Louis van Gaal’s side therefore could make an offer Chelsea find too good to refuse.
