According to L’Equipe, Real Madrid have become the latest club to show an interest in Lyon’s Brazilian star Michel Bastos. The 27-year-old, who can play anywhere down the left flank, impressed Los Blancos boss Jose Mourinho with his ability to strike the ball and surge up and down the wing.

Mourinho is keen for Real Madrid to tempt Bastos away from Lyon, although the French club have already resisted an attempt to buy their Brazilian by Juventus earlier in the summer.

Real Madrid are reportedly ready to send an offer of €12M plus out-of-favour winger Royston Drenthe to Lyon in order to secure Bastos. The Brazilian international is under contract with Lyon until 2013.
