Inter president Massimo Moratti accepts that Rafael Benitez is a different character to previous boss Jose Mourinho, but insists that the two are very similar when it comes to preparing their teams and being thorough.
"I realise that for the media Benitez is someone who breaks with the recent past [compared to Mourinho]. But I have chosen him for his qualities as a coach, not for his character. I tried for a double of Mourinho and I’ve found that Rafa is just as meticulous as Jose.." said Moratti.
The Inter president also explained that it was the team’s duty to try and repeat last season’s famous treble, though he understands how difficult that will be.
On the subject of Dirk Kuyt, recently linked with a move to the Nerazzurri from Benitez’s former team of Liverpool, Moratti said that he could be slotted into the coach’s tactics, but was unsure on a move.
