Werder Bremen have moved quickly in an attempt to bolster their midfield after the sale of Mesut Ozil to Real Madrid. The Bundesliga side have agreed a deal to bring in young Brazilian midfielder Wesley from Santos on a four-year contract.
The 23-year-old midfielder is highly rated in his homeland and Werder are hoping they can repeat the trick of unearthing a classy Brazilian talent in the mould of Diego, who Ozil himself replaced in the starting eleven when the playmaker transferred to Juventus.
"It was my life’s dream to play in a strong league with a top team", Wesley told Werder Bremen’s official site, "I am overjoyed that this has now happened with Werder Bremen. I am looking forward to the city and to joining the squad as soon as possible and making the fans happy."
Wesley’s arrival in Germany will also come with big expectations as the German club wait to see if they have discovered a gem.
