New Tottenham Hotspur signing William Gallas has said he can’t wait to get going for his new club, but admitted that being a former Arsenal player made the decision to move across North London a less than straightforward one.

"It was not an easy decision [because of Arsenal] but I am here now and I will give my best", Gallas told the club’s official website.

"What is most important to me is to play games and give everything. I just want to be fit as soon as possible, train with my team-mates and play matches. I want to show everybody I am still here."

Gallas has inked a one-year deal at White Hart Lane and says he believes Spurs should be capable of progressing to the group phase of the Champions League. While the Premier League trail 3-2 from the first leg, they do hold two priceless away goals.
