Former Atletico Madrid striker Florent Sinama-Pongolle is heading back to La Liga after falling down the pecking order at Sporting Lisbon. The French goalscorer has joined Real Zaragoza on a season-long loan as he looks for more first team football.
Pongolle enjoyed a good time in his first spell in La Liga, joining Recreativo from Premier League side Liverpool and quickly finding his feet. Impressive form there saw Atletico Madrid swooping for the striker, but regular first team football was difficult in Madrid with Diego Forlan and Sergio Aguero ahead of the Frenchman.
Now Pongolle will look to make a splash at Zaragoza, where the club’s target is survival.
