Inter hope to add a midfielder before the transfer window slams shut and after ambitious talk just a few days ago about either Ces Fabregas or Bastian Schweinsteiger, have been forced to scale back their plans. Now they are lining up a move to the European Champions for Gokhan Inler or Christian Ledesma.

Inler would prove to be the more expensive option for Inter, with the Swiss international thought to cost around €20M from Udinese. Ledesma however, could arrive from Lazio for a more cost effective €9M.

Inter boss Rafael Benitez is hoping for reinforcements before the window closes and would welcome either midfielder to the club. Benitez began his Serie A campaign by playing out a 0-0 draw at Bologna last night.
