The debate over the departure of Zlatan Ibrahimovic to AC Milan from Barcelona has continued after the Camp Nou club’s sporting director had his say on the transfer.

Andoni Zubizaretta, himself a legendary goalkeeper, told Marca that "if Ibra scored 28 goals and had played every game last season then we would not have sold [him]."

Ibrahimovic had earlier commented that he had not spoken to coach Pep Guardiola for months and this seemed to confirm widespread reports that their relationship was strained.

The debate in Barcelona though, over a player who cost €46M plus Samuel Eto’o just 12 months ago, but has been allowed to leave on loan this summer, will surely continue.
