Liverpool forward Dirk Kuyt has spoken about the interest that came from Internazionale over the summer, saying he was flattered to have been courted by the European Champions and enjoys an excellent relationship with coach Rafael Benitez.

Kuyt was speaking after Holland defeated San Marino in their Euro 2012 qualifier yesterday and told Sky that he "cannot deny that there was a negotiation [with Inter]", but added that "Liverpool told me I was not for sale."

While the Dutchman appears content to remain in the Premier League at Anfield, he was clearly flattered by the interest which came from the Serie A giants.

Kuyt commented that he "was pleased to be wooed by such a prestigious club, led by a coach with whom I have maintained a wonderful relationship."

Rumours from Italy have suggested that Inter could well revisit their interest in the Dutchman come the January transfer window, with Benitez believing Kuyt to be a tactically disciplined player capable of excelling in Serie A.
