The French FA would like to hold onto the services of Gerard Houllier in the face of interest from Aston Villa.
Houllier, now a technical director with the French football federation, has been given the opportunity to succeed Martin O’Neill as Villa boss and is believed to be very close to accepting the offer.
However, FFF president Fernando Duchaussoy is keen to speak to the former Liverpool manager before he makes his decision. Duchaussoy is not keen on losing Houllier and wants to speak to him on the matter.
"I will meet on Wednesday to take stock of the situation with him, I’ll ask him [about the situation]", said Dechaussoy, before adding, "I would like to continue working with him."
