Bayern Munich are determined to fight to keep hold of Bastian Schweinsteiger in the face of serious interest from Real Madrid. The German side have told Jose Mourinho that they value their midfielder so highly that he is not, under any circumstances, available for transfer.

"Schweinsteiger is non-transferrable and we want to extend his contract", Bayern’s sporting director Christian Nerlinger told Bild. "The same goes for [Philipp] Lahm and all the in the team that we want to build the future on."

Despite Bayern’s words Real Madrid are expected to bid for Schweinsteiger next summer after Mourinho described the player as a complete midfielder, showing words of praise upon the Germany star. Schweinsteiger himself is known to fancy tasting a foreign league and the Bundesliga giants may have a fight on their hands.
