Manchester City defender Vincent Kompany has warned title rivals Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United that the Eastlands club will win the Premier League "very soon".

Roberto Mancini’s men have spent bags of cash to pack the squad with top talents and Kompany believes that such a policy has to pay off sooner rather than later.

"A lot of money has been invested and we’ve taken a further step towards reaching our big target", Kompany told insidefutbol.com. 

"When will we win the Premier League? My answer is: someday. Maybe not this season, but surely very soon. It’s not easy to compete against the traditional big clubs and Manchester City can be considered as newcomers to English’s football’s elite."

Kompany also stated that he was sure the established powers in the Premier League were now taking City very seriously indeed. 

"We face teams who paid no attention to City, but now they are ready to give 110% of their efforts in their attempt to beat us."
