Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson was left fuming yesterday as the Red Devils surrendered a two-goal advantage over Everton in the final few minutes of their Premier League meeting at Goodison Park. Ferguson’s side had been winning 3-1 as the match moved into injury time, but two late goals from Everton saw the Blues claim an unlikely draw.

"From a completely comfortable position we’ve thrown it away, as simple as that", Ferguson told Sky Sports.

"Our last two away games have been like that. We lost a goal with two minutes to go against Fulham and it’s the same today."

The Manchester United manager was obviously frustrated with his side’s inability to defend solidly late on in games, but he did take a positive from the performance of Dimitar Berbatov, who Ferguson maintains is a top quality player.

"Berbatov was our best player. I thought he was absolutely brilliant at times, but it’s all wasted as we’ve given the two points away."
