New Inter coach Rafael Benitez has warned that the Nerazzurri are well capable of defending their Champions League title. The holders, who were led to victory in Madrid by Jose Mourinho last season, are ranked behind Barcelona and Real Madrid in the list of favourites, but Benitez is confident.
"With the same intensity [as last season] and the same mentality, we can still win the Champions League because this squad has so much quality", said Benitez.
The Spaniard also warned Inter though that "we must start well", as they bid to defend their title. Benitez has enjoyed great success in the Champions League, having won the trophy with Liverpool in 2005 and then reached the final, only to lose out to AC Milan, in 2007.
