Inter’s rampaging Brazilian full back Maicon has said that the current European Champions need to improve defending set-pieces after they could only draw their Champions League opener in Holland.

The Italians were impressive at times, but opponents FC Twente also enjoyed good passages of play and were value for their 2-2 draw. Maicon however believes that Inter need to watch set-pieces.

"In the game we managed well", said the Brazilian, "but they got goals from two inactive balls and we need to work on this."

Maicon also commented on his own fitness, believing his physical condition to be a little from where he would currently like it to be. However, the Real Madrid summer transfer target says it is only a matter of time until he is once again performing at his peak.
