Roma have denied that they are looking to replace current coach Claudio Ranieri with former AC Milan boss Leonardo. The pressure is building on Ranieri after a sluggish start to the new season, but the capital club appear determined to keep faith with the former Chelsea manager for now.

"Roma does not expect to relieve the coach", said a short statement to romanews.eu, which will surely boost Ranieri’s position.

The Serie A side lost 5-1 at Cagliari last weekend and followed this up with a midweek loss to Bayern Munich (2-0) in the Champions League. Despite only two games having been played in the Italian top flight, pressure can build very quickly at Roma and Ranieri will need to record a win this weekend against Bologna.
