Marcel Desailly is growing increasingly confident that he will emerge successful from the process under way to choose the next Ghana coach.

The former AC Milan and Chelsea defender, despite turning out for France at international level, is a proud Ghanaian and believes he is the perfect choice to succeed Milovan Rajevac. The Serbian parted ways with the Ghanaian FA after a successful World Cup and is now coaching in Saudi Arabia.

Desailly told L’Equipe: "Nothing is done. All parties seem OK on my project, the Minister of the Federation, but we must wait."

The former defensive powerhouse said he believed a delay on choosing the next coach was understandable.

"Here in English speaking countries there are many committees that are to meet. We’ll see, but everyone seems to agree on a candidate."
