Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho has told the press to stop making a big deal out of his decision to leave Pedro Leon at home for tonight’s Champions League clash with Auxerre.
The Spanish press were surprised to hear of the omission of the highly rated 23-year-old, and questions started to be asked about what was behind Mourinho’s decision.
"Speculation is the work of journalists", declared Mourinho who insisted he did not want to talk about the matter. "I am here to select players. You ask me why Pedro Leon is not here, but he is not Zidane or Maradona, or Di Stefano either! It must stop! He must work and play when I decide."
