Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas has said that he will not be making any rash decisions as the future of coach Claude Puel is still in the spotlight. The French giants won yesterday at Nancy, but even that 3-2 victory has not succeeded in lifting them away from the bottom four of Ligue 1.
Aulas is baffled as to why his club has made such a poor start to the season, but is determined to take his time assessing the situation and not jump to any early conclusions after just eight league games.
"I believe that we cannot make decisions before the 10th matchday [of Ligue 1] and the third matchday of the Champions League. We are going to stick to our schedule and hold a review after the 10th matchday."
While that means Puel is safe in his job for now, that may not be the case after the club’s next few games. Indeed, Aulas added: "The question is, why are Lyon in such a terrible position?"
