Barcelona coach Josep Guardiola has refused to make any excuses for his team as they dropped two points against Real Mallorca.

At the Camp Nou, Barcelona were expected to steamroller the visitors, but could only manage a 1-1 draw, a result which allowed Real Madrid to gain a one point advantage over the Blaugrana.

Lionel Messi opened the scoring in the 21st minute for the home side, but their lead was not to last as Emilio Nsue levelled just before half time. Despite Barcelona huffing and puffing, they could not find another goal, and the spoils were shared.

"There is no excuse for not winning the match", said Guardiola. "We should have won, and we have not."

The Catalan boss also bemoaned his side’s inability to take their chances, pinpointing it as the main reason for their failure to claim victory.
