Reports in Spain suggest that Real Madrid have identified three possible reinforcements for the January transfer window. Spanish newspaper AS suggests that Los Blancos are considering Ajax striker Luis Suarez, Juventus midfielder Mohamed Sissoko and Stoke City defender Ryan Shawcross.

All three signings would be made to provide Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho with more strength in depth in his squad, with none of the newcomers expected to slot straight into the starting eleven.

Suarez’s arrival would seem to be dependent on Karim Benzema leaving the Bernabeu, with Los Blancos having already made discreet enquiries for Sissoko; the Mali midfielder would be expected to cost the Spanish side some €8M. The situation with Shawcross is less clear and there is little indication Mourinho would break the bank for the Stoke player.
