Rumours are circulating that the royal family of Qatar may be preparing to invest in Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain. It was reported by L’Expansion that the royal family and the club’s major shareholder Colony Capital, had reached an agreement for 30% of the club’s shares.

However, Colony Capital have since denied that a deal has been done, stating that they deny that they most certainly have not "signed a memorandum of agreement with any investor, whether for all or part of the capital of PSG."

It is still believed though that the Qatari royal family are speaking to Colony and could yet come to some sort of agreement with the group. The Qataris are thought to see much potential in Paris Saint-Germain, which is the only major club in the French capital, offering, as many have pointed out, a unique opportunity to expand.
