Despite guiding Lyon to four consecutive victories as he looks like turning the situation at the Stade Gerland around, Claude Puel’s future as coach is still not entirely secure according to reports from France.

Lyon, despite spending heavily in the past two summers, made a terrible start to the season and still sit in the bottom half of Ligue 1. However, wins over Hapoel Tel-Aviv, Nancy, Lille and Benfica, in consecutive matches, did appear to take the pressure off Puel and suggests Lyon could be discovering their best form.

However, president Jean-Michel Aulas has not yet made any decision over Puel’s future, taking his time to consider all options. Should the president decide to part company with his coach, Puel’s compensation is estimated to be in the €7-9M range. To also add to the speculation, Dutch boss Frank Rijkaard has been linked with a move to the Ligue 1 club.
