Inter midfielder Esteban Cambiasso has revealed he was not surprised at how difficult Sampdoria made it for the Nerazzurri yesterday. The champions could only draw 1-1 with Samp at the San Siro, but Cambiasso expected a tough game.

The visitors had taken the lead through Stefano Guberti on the hour and Rafael Benitez’s side needed an 80th minute equaliser from Samuel Eto’o to ensure a share of the spoils.

"Sampdoria always create a few difficultes for us", explained Cambiasso, "but let’s hope we end this season like the previous ones.

"They always have a strong character and they showed it again today, but we dominated for almost the whole match."

And while the Argentine midfielder was grateful for Eto’o getting the Nerazzurri out of jail, he also believes that the side are clearly missing Diego Milito and Thiago Motta and will be a better side when the duo return.

"I don’t think it’s fair to just talk about Samuel today. We’re pleased with what Eto’o is doing, but Diego is an important player too and we are waiting for him and Thiago Motta with open arms."
