Juventus fans have been handed a boost with the news that defender Giorgio Chiellini is not too far away from signing a new contract at the club. Chiellini is a regular for the Azzurri and at just 26 years old, has a long and fruitful career ahead of him. And it appears he is happy to spend this in Turin.
"My situation?", said Chiellini when questioned if he was close to agreeing to remain at Juventus for the long term. "There is agreement on all sides for a [new contract], but there is just a little red tape [to resolve]."
The news will be welcomed in Turin, with Chiellini one of the club’s most impressive performers. Had the Italian international decided his future lay elsewhere there would surely have been no shortage of takers.
