Juventus chief executive Jean-Claude Blanc has dismissed claims that the club’s new stadium, the Juventus Arena, will saddle the Old Lady with debt and make them more uncompetitive on the pitch. The Serie A side have long wanted their own ground and with the Juventus arena that dream will soon become a reality.
"The business plan of the new stadium highlights the company’s ability to sustain operating costs and repay the debt", explained Blanc when questioned on whether it would impact the team and club. "The project financing allows the new stadium to pay for itself."
The Old Lady’s Juventus Arena will hold 41,000 people and is estimated to be complete for use in the 2011/12 season. Its cost has been estimated at €105M.
