Lyon midfielder Kim Kallstrom has confirmed the team’s desire to rise up the Ligue 1 table as quickly as possible after their poor start. The Stade Gerland outfit face a tough challenge at second placed Rennes tonight, a club Kallstom knows well, having represented them for two years before joining Lyon.
"We intend to take points and move on to return as quickly as possible to the top teams", Kallstrom told Le Parisien. "We have struggled to take off, others [have too]. We are not far away."
Lyon lost out away to Benfica in the Champions League in midweek, going down 4-3. But this was not without first staging a rousing comeback from 4-0 down, to peg the Portuguese side back. It is this type of character that they will need to show this evening.
