Bayern Munich appear to have moved into pole position to sign young Cluj striker Lacina Traore. The Germans had discussed Traore with Cluj’s president Iuliu Muresan when the two clubs met recently in the Champions League and despite the Romanians remaining keen on keeping hold of the Ivory Coast hitman, a deal looks in the offing.

Traore, who is under contract with Cluj until 2012, is also being tracked by Arsenal and Napoli, but it seems certain that Bayern Munich are moving quicker than both to try and tie up a deal for the striker.

Indeed, Cluj president Muresan has stated that the German club "would be willing to offer the amount we requested for [Traore]". That amount is believed to be around €6M and the Ivory Coast player could head to the Allianz Arena as soon as the winter transfer window opens in January.
