Inter and Napoli are preparing to do battle over exciting young Espanyol defender Victor Ruiz. According to reports from Italy, Inter boss Rafael Benitez has identified Ruiz as a player who could bolster the Nerazzurri’s squad and a hot prospect for the future; Napoli have been tracking Ruiz for some time.
Just 21 years old, Ruiz has already progressed through the Spanish Under-17,19 and 21 squads and has broken through into the Espanyol first team.
Napoli are believed to be slightly ahead of Inter in the race for the defender, but Ruiz will not come cheap. Espanyol are believed to want at least €8M for their highly rated young talent.
