Marseille coach Didier Deschamps has insisted he has no plans to return to Bordeaux to try to sign Alou Diarra. The Frenchman was keen on Diarra, but Bordeaux did not want to part with their midfield rock, and Deschamps does not intend to rekindle his interest in the 29-year-old.
"I cannot go back", said Deschamps when questioned about strengthening his defensive midfield department with Diarra. "I have players who are there. You know what I wanted, but now we cannot rewind. I trust my players."
Marseille lost in Paris against PSG at the weekend, but the defeat does not leave them too far from the top of Ligue 1. Deschamps’ side lie just three points behind surprise league leaders Brest.
