Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti has said he needs to have an urgent meeting with his players to see what went wrong in their 3-0 home defeat to Sunderland. The Blues were shocked by the incisive nature of Sunderland’s win, with goals coming through Nedum Onuoha (45 mins), Asamoah Gyan (52 mins) and Danny Welbeck (87 mins)

Ancelotti however, will have to wait until late next week to meet the players and discuss what happened because of the international break.

"With the players we need to have a meeting on Thursday when they come back from national teams, to see what happened. It’s our worst performance since I’ve been here", bemoaned Ancelotti. "It can happen in football when one is not better and we do not play with the best state of mind. Everything went wrong. "

The Italian also insisted that his players must have a better frame of mind for home matches and a positive mentality was lacking.

"We are not happy because at home we must play with a better frame of mind."
