Real Madrid winger Angel di Maria has said that Jose Mourinho has already improved his game in the short time he has been at the Bernabeu. The Argentine moved from Benfica in the summer and feels his performances have already moved him up a notch – thanks to Mourinho.
"Mourinho has many strengths", explained Di Maria to Marca. "He is very demanding and always wants more. You could end up winning 2-0 and 6-0 and [he] will require more."
Di Maria also explained that Mourinho began to demand more of him the moment he arrived in Madrid, asking him to boost the defensive side of his game.
"He asked me to help more in defence and to sacrifice [myself and] taught me to run back and I have evolved during my short time here. On the defensive side I’ve adjusted very well."
The summer signing already looks a good buy for Los Blancos and has given them an extra attacking outlet. Di Maria has also developed a good understanding with Cristiano Ronaldo.
