In order to see off interest from Bayern Munich, Chelsea have proposed a new four-year contract to Gael Kakuta. The Frenchman however, has not yet signed the deal and is considering his options. While the terms on offer are generous, Kakuta is concerned about the lack of playing time he is seeing at Stamford Bridge.

Kakuta and his representatives met Chelsea officials to discuss a new deal on Thursday, with the talks lasting for over four hours. At the end of it however, no deal was signed as the former Lens youngster asked for more time to consider his position.

Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich will be watching developments closely with Kakuta out of contract at the end of this season. The German side believe they could hand the Frenchman the first team football he craves and rate him highly.
