Inter coach Rafael Benitez has suffered a blow with the news that creative midfielder Coutinho will be out of action for up to two months. The young Brazilian, who is highly rated by Benitez, hurt his thigh during Friday’s training session and the verdict is a depressing one for Inter.

Coutinho’s career has been motoring this season, with Benitez trusting in the player for the Nerazzurri and the 18-year-old was even handed his first senior Brazil cap in a friendly against Iran. The midfielder already looks a snip at the €4M Inter paid to buy him from Vasco da Gama’s youth academy.

Benitez also received further bad news from Friday’s training as Honduras striker David Suazo limped out of the session. In total, Inter now have eleven members of the first team squad on the sidelines.

It is now almost certain that the Serie A giants will be big players in the winter transfer window.
