Lyon midfielder Jean Makoun has declared himself ready to leave the Ligue 1 giants in the January transfer window after losing patience with his inability to enjoy sufficient playing time at the Stade Gerland.

The Cameroon star was rated as one of the best midfielders in France when he swapped Lille for Lyon in 2008. Yet despite featuring regularly for Lyon in the 2008/09 and 2009/10 campaigns, this season he has found opportunities harder to come by. And the 27-year-old is ready to call it quits at the club.

"If there are opportunities to leave I will consider it. At Lyon I am not happy"
, stated Makoun.

Tipped to lead the chase for the tough-tackling midfielder are Turkish giants Fenerbahce and Premier League side Aston Villa. Both are thought to rate Makoun highly and will be encouraged by his comments.
