Marseille coach Didier Deschamps has stated he hopes to be able to keep hold of Brazilian striker Brandao, despite the striker expressing concerns about a lack of first team football.

Brandao saw Marseille buy Andre-Pierre Gignac and Loic Remy from Toulouse and Nice respectively over the summer, and his playing time has suffered. The former Shakhtar Donetsk player also saw a summer move to Napoli fall through.

"I hope I have time to keep Brandao, for the great contribution he can make to the team, including defensive work and [when we] are not in possession", said Deschamps.

Brandao has previously hinted he may look to move in the January transfer window if his chances do not improve. The Brazilian remains though under contract until 2013.
