Reports in Portugal suggest that Benfica defender David Luiz has decided that if he leaves the Estadio da Luz it will be to join English Premier League side Manchester City.
According to Portuguese daily A Bola, Luiz was sounded out by Serie A giants Inter, but let it be known that he fancies a move to Eastlands and sees it as the next logical step in his career.
While Benfica do not want to sell the 23-year-old, they are aware that the Brazilian international will command a huge fee from Manchester City. The Portuguese side will nevertheless hope for more interested parties to join the race, in order to push up Luiz’s price.
